This pattern is for a coat, leggings, bonnet and mittens for babies from birth to nine months.

Year – 1940’s judging from small size of the printed pattern and price. There are other patterns from 1930’s & 1940’s which are designed by “Ena” of Home Fashions and Children’s Dress. Home Fashions was a magazine begun in 1921 as Harmsworth’s Home Fashions in 1921, changing it’s name in 1925. It was discontinued in 1953. (Source British Library catalogue).

    This pattern was knitted by my mother for me in 1954, baby fashions didn’t change much then my pram set was raspberry pink.
