A Penelope Design in 3 ply

Year – 1930s I had been undecided when I first posted this five years ago, but now after looking at lots of  patterns, 2d as a price dates it as the 1930s, unless this is a budget brand I’m unaware of. Interestingly the original colours are given as purple, white, green and yellow.

Size – 34 inch bust

Yarn Size – 3 ply

Hi Sunny stitcher, I think this pattern might be 1950s. The design appears nautical and reminds me of 1950s travel sweaters for women going on holiday or cruising. Also the font used in the pattetn looks more modern than 1940s.

You could be right, it does have a nautical feel and the paper really seemed good quality, except I looked at the price of a 30s cardigan and it’s the same – I’ll be posting it later.
