The changing of terminology is so interesting. The very nice pullover blouse was a jumper in 1935!
I think it’s an English thing – in the UK we’d call it a jumper today if it’s knitted, though the American sweater is also understood, but mainly used for jersey machined knitted. We used to use jersey as a name for a jumper too, from the UK island Jersey.
